Mowi

Working with the world’s biggest salmon farming company, Mowi. Whale-like-fish works with Mowi’s business units around the world to produce daily content for its Intranet, Mowi Connect. We also copy write and work with our team at the Design Hub to produce Mowi Scotland’s monthly newsletter, The Scoop.

Whale-like-fish works with Mowi’s team at its Feed Mill in Kyleakin, Skye, on community and media relations, as well as other activity including local stories and visuals for social media.

Inverness Townscape Heritage Project

Focusing on Academy Street, the Inverness Townscape Heritage Project involves a number of funders contributing to a project fund from which grants are given to local property owners, businesses and organisations to allow them to carry out high-quality repairs and historic reinstatement to properties and spaces. Communicating milestones of key projects on Academy Street via press releases, social media and newsletters, with the aim of raising awareness and encouraging other building owners and occupiers to apply for grants. 

Stories include the redevelopment of Blackfriars and the Rose Street Foundry.

Whale-like-fish works with the Scottish Plant Owners Association (SPOA) – the trade body for the Scottish plant industry – providing PR and social media support on a wide range of topics and issues impacting its members, while promoting the industry as a whole.

Inverness Half Marathon and 5K

Whale-like-fish provided PR support for the 2020 Inverness Half Marathon and 5K. This included media relations and case studies to drive sign-up to the event, blog post writing, influencer engagement, social media content, including competitions with event partners, assisting with crisis communications and event day support.

GlenWyvis Distillery

Whale-like-fish was appointed by GlenWyvis Distillery – the world’s first 100 per cent community-owned distillery – to assist with PR and social media activity in 2021. Among the highlights of our work with the Dingwall-based distillery was launching its inaugural release Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky in December 2021.

Visit Wester Ross

Following receipt of a Covid recovery grant from VisitScotland, Visit Wester Ross appointed Whale-like-fish to develop a campaign to attract tourists and encourage them to stay and enjoy the region for longer. The aim of the campaign was to encourage a better quality of visit, rather than people passing through the area for a selfie-stop or overnight as part of a longer road trip.

Whale-like-fish was appointed by Loch Ness by Jacobite in early 2022 to help increase awareness of its visitor attractions locally, reflecting a focus on the local market following the Covid pandemic.

Pat Munro / Raigmore Active Travel Link

Whale-like-fish was appointed by Pat Munro as the Public Liaison Officer for the construction of the Raigmore Active Travel Link. We were tasked with informing residents of Raigmore Estate, the wider public in Inverness and relevant stakeholders with updates on progress of construction and to provide notice of any disruption that may be caused by the works.

Etape Loch Ness

Whale-like-fish has provided PR support for Etape Loch Ness in 2021, 2022 and 2023. We handle media relations pre and post-event, draft case studies based on cyclists’ stories which are pitched to media, provide event support on the day, including social media management and crisis communications support, and manage influencers or journalists who are taking part in the event.

CrossFit 57 North

Whale-like-fish provided pro-bono support to CrossFit 57 North and Rachel Hives following Rachel securing a place at the 2024 Adaptive CrossFit Games in San Antonio, Texas. Whale-like-fish undertook a media relations campaign to help boost donations to Rachel’s GoFundMe page to get her to the event, as well as documenting her journey to the competition, resulting in coverage across outlets including BBC News, MFR, Inverness Courier and Press & Journal.
