Case study: Visit Inverness Loch Ness

Whale-like-fish was appointed by Visit Inverness Loch Ness (VILN) in late 2021 to help communicate the work the Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) is doing for its members and the wider community.

This includes sharing details of growth within the organisation, funding opportunities, achievements and good news stories. So far, stories we have communicated include the following:

Among the biggest stories communicated to media was the launch of a promotional video inspired by tales of the legendary Loch Ness Monster. The video aimed to showcase the scenery, Highland hospitality and the sense of humour of the locals, to attract visitors and aid area’s Covid-19 recovery. Coverage was secured in The Daily Record, The National, The Herald, Press & Journal, Inverness Courier, Highland News, amongst others.

Another important story was the launch of webcams at Loch Ness, enabling people all over the world to see what’s happening on the loch and try to spot Nessie! Coverage of the launch was secured in publications including the Daily Record, Scottish Daily Express, The Scottish Sun, STV News, Daily Star, The National, The Press and Journal, BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Alba and the Inverness Courier.
