Whale-like-fish was appointed by Pat Munro as the Public Liaison Officer for the construction of the Raigmore Active Travel Link. We were tasked with informing residents of Raigmore Estate, the wider public in Inverness and relevant stakeholders with updates on progress of construction and to provide notice of any disruption that may be caused by the works.
Working alongside Pat Munro and The Highland Council over the 12 months, Whale-like- fish carried out the following:
- Created a website with information on Raigmore Active Travel Link, with details of how it fits into the wider Inverness City Active Travel Network (ICATN). All communication throughout the project directed stakeholders to this website, where they could sign-up to be notified of any updates. The website was updated with posts on a weekly basis and people could get in touch directly with any questions or concerns.
- Issued press releases and artist’s impressions of the Raigmore Active Travel Link to Inverness media notifying the public of the start of the work and footpath/road lane closures, with regular updates being provided throughout the project.
- Designed and placed adverts in local media informing the public of footpath and road lane closures
- Provided blog and social media posts to Pat Munro for sharing on its channels
- Carried out two letter drops to approximately 600 households in Raigmore Estate
- Attended every Raigmore Community Council meeting since project start
- Acted as the point of contact for residents, the public and stakeholders, and created a log of responses
- An official opening of the Raigmore Active Travel Link, with photography featuring all stakeholders provided to media
Following successful completion of the Raigmore Active Travel Link, Whale-like-fish was appointed by The Highland Council to provide public engagement services for Academy Street proposals and a barrier-controlled bus and emergency service route from Raigmore Hospital to Raigmore Estate.
