Meet the team

Highlander Eilidh and adopted Highlander Helen founded Whale-like-fish in 2019.

Helen and Eilidh have worked together for a number of years and they bring out the best in each other; resulting in a lot of laughs, some great puns and plenty of creative campaigns for clients.

With a strong work ethic, they bring a down to earth, honest, no-nonsense approach to PR. Trusted by clients to give sound advice and by media to provide newsworthy content, these PR pros are already making a splash.

Helen Ross

Having worked for large international PR consultancy, Porter Novelli, and award-winning Scottish PR agency Muckle Media I’ve earned my PR stripes and got the t-shirt! At Whale-like-fish, I can finally do the dreaded deed that big agencies have feared for so long and commoditise PR. I have spent years advising clients to put themselves in the shoes of their customer and yet we never do that in the PR industry. Well, we do now!

We offer clients a range of services, we explain why they need them and give each service a price tag. We invoice when we deliver so no more awkward conversations at the end of the month about day rates and how many hours are in the day.

I’ve worked in this industry for almost 20 years and I still love it. I still get a buzz from seeing a story in the paper or on the TV that I know I have placed and I still have fun coming up with creative campaigns.

The Highlands has been my home since 2009 and I wouldn’t live anywhere else. I am passionate about the area, the people and staggered by the number of creative microbusinesses that form the bedrock of the Highland economy. With years of experience on big global brands, combined with delivering campaigns in the Highlands and my perfect partner Eilidh, I think Whale-like-fish has a lot to offer to the Highlands.
